    Finding…

My voice. My community. My future. If you read my previous post or maybe my newsletter, you know that I’m diving deep back into this writing journey. I am no longer living a life on the road, instead I find myself settled, for the time being anyway, in a corner of the country I never expected to be in. While I don’t foresee myself staying here long, it is where I need to be at this moment. One of the drawbacks however, has been the lack of community. It is a very transient area, snowbirds descend upon us in the fall, then pack up and leave again in the spring.…

The Glamorous Life of a Writer (Spoiler: It’s Mostly Snacks and Existential Crises)

Ah, the writer’s life. People think it’s all vintage typewriters, bookshelves overflowing with all the classics, and sipping overpriced coffee while typing profound thoughts that will someday change the world. Let me tell you the truth. It’s mostly staring at a blinking cursor while wondering if “the” is really the right word. Morning Routine: The Fantasy vs. Reality Fantasy: Wake up at 6 a.m., do yoga, make a green smoothie, then write 2,000 brilliant words by noon. Reality: Okay, I still wake up at 6 a.m. because, well I don’t know why. My body just thinks it’s time to get up. Roll out of bed, scroll through Instagram for “inspiration,”…

All The News That’s Fit For Print

Well, not all the news, but at least some of news of the last almost year that I’ve been absent from this site. Let me start by saying the first half, almost two thirds of the year was good. I was working on my second and third books, that summer I was preparing for a move that would take me closer to my family again, and life was generally humming along. Both books are still in various stages of drafts and edits, but they do exist in some form or fashion. My original goal was to get book 2 done and released some time this year (2025). Of course, there…

    It’s been a minute…

Or approximately 1,095 Days or 26,280 Hours or 1,576,800 Minutes, or if you really want to break it down, 94,608,000 Seconds… In that time a lot of life has happened for all of us. I won’t go into details, that would be an entire book on it’s own. But I will let you know, there has been a lot of writing, editing, and other publishing tasks going on during that time. Between The Beats was published, pick up a copy here if you haven’t already. And if you would be so kind, once you do read it, please leave a review. Even if it’s just a quick, loved it, great book,…

    Coming Soon

Well, it certainly has been a while since I’ve published anything here. The past year and a half has certainly been not what anyone had anticipated. But I’m back and have exciting news to share with you all. On December 21, 2021, Between The Beats will make its debut. Both paperback and e-book versions should be available on that day. This has been a long journey, starting way back in 2011 as my first ever NaNoWriMo project. There have been many ups and downs, countless drafts live on in my computer somewhere, the inner critic voice was pretty rude at times, but I prevailed and managed to finally shut her…
