Resources

Here you will find a list of helpful resources related to writing. If you have something you think I should add, please let me know.

  • Recordings (MP3 format and CD’s) from various writing conferences, including PNWA and more. VW Tapes
  • Damon Suede writer guides. Books Verbalize and Activate, along with your A game are must haves in your library.
  • For those times you need to brush up on Grammar lessons, check out Khan Academy here
  • Looking for a great community of writers, I highly recommend Becoming Writer at The Write Practice. Check out the articles too.
  • Need something fun to inspire your writing and break through that writer’s block? Or maybe you need a gift for a fellow writer? Writing Maps are the answer. I used the Character Map as my inspiration for NaNoWriMo 2016 and am looking forward to using the others I’ve been collecting too.
  • Sometimes you just need a reminder that you’re not alone in this journey and a little inspiration can go a long way. Check out Inspired Writer. Less than five bucks, easy to access anywhere since it’s a Kindle book, and quick, short chapters that give you that little extra nudge you may need.
  • Masterclass:
    •  Screenwriting with Aaron Sorkin I will be the first to admit, I’m a huge Aaron Sorkin fan. Even with that bias in mind, I would still recommend this class for not just screenwriters, but any writer wanting to grow in their craft.
    • Judy Blume Teaches Writing I grew up reading Judy Blume novels. Her words helped me through so many difficult times in my childhood and in part, inspired me to write as well.
