Living The RV Life – Week 2

Week 2 was spent in Missoula Montana. “Big Sky” country. And I can see why. When it was clear, you could see for miles. No skyscrapers, no tall buildings, no masses of cars on highways. Just land, sky, water, and okay, some people, cars, trucks, RV’s, and buildings. But nothing like what we left behind in Washington.

We went for a hike on Sunday afternoon, and this was the view we saw most of the time. Until the rain clouds chased us off that is. And the thunderstorm we had Monday evening was pretty spectacular too. That was something we infrequently got in the Seattle area. So to get to experience that again was fun. You don’t realize you miss something like that until you encounter it again.

The campground where we stayed was wonderful too. Lots of trees, and flowers. So many flowers. The staff there really took great care of the place. They even hosted an ice cream social on Wednesday evening with live music and locally made huckleberry ice cream. It’s definitely on my list of places to come back to again.

Another bonus to staying in Missoula for the week was getting to visit family. I have a cousin who lives here and is also a wizard when it comes to hair. So of course, all three of us took advantage of her skills and got much-needed haircuts. Not to mention just spending time together, catching up, and sharing some good meals.

Now, as you are reading this, we are settling in at our next stop, Joseph Oregon, for two weeks. I’m not sure what kind of Internet service we’ll have there, so the next update may come a little late. But I’m looking forward to time spent exploring, perhaps some paddle boating, or other lake activities, hiking, and of course, more writing.

I love the way people repurpose items and turn them into cute art displays.
This was one of the flower beds in the campground.
One of my favorite flowers to grow when I was a kid were nasturtiums.
Though they’re not in full bloom yet, I know this will look spectacular when
all the orange, red, and yellow blooms are out.
