Living The RV Life – Weeks 3, 4, and 5

Also known as the rest of July. I had hoped to post this during the two weeks I was in Joseph Oregon, but Internet connections were on again, off again while there. But that was okay with me. It gave me a chance to explore the area, get some writing time in, and relax for the first time in what has felt like forever. Then I thought, when I’m in Bend Oregon, surely I’ll have a good internet connection and can post from there. Surprise. It was even worse there since I was technically staying south of Bend, and I could only get service in one spot in the park.…

Living The RV Life – Week 2

Week 2 was spent in Missoula Montana. “Big Sky” country. And I can see why. When it was clear, you could see for miles. No skyscrapers, no tall buildings, no masses of cars on highways. Just land, sky, water, and okay, some people, cars, trucks, RV’s, and buildings. But nothing like what we left behind in Washington. We went for a hike on Sunday afternoon, and this was the view we saw most of the time. Until the rain clouds chased us off that is. And the thunderstorm we had Monday evening was pretty spectacular too. That was something we infrequently got in the Seattle area. So to get to…

Living The RV Life – Week 1

Happy July! As of July 1, 2019, my family and I have embarked on a new chapter, living, working and enjoying life while living full-time in an RV. As I mentioned in my most recent newsletter, we have moved out of the sticks and bricks house that we were living in for the past nine years, and are now learning to live with one another in a much smaller space. The month of June turned out to be pretty crazy, even more so than I was actually expecting it to be. Between moving my daughter home from college, packing up the things we wanted to keep and moving that to…

    Let’s Stay Connected

Dear Reader.I hope this finds you well and enjoying the days as they get longer. We’ve had sunshine and warm temperatures here in the greater Seattle area. I know, most people think it rains here all the time, and to be fair, we do get a lot of rain and gray days. But spring, and definitely summer are beautiful times of the year in this area. Especially when “the mountain” comes out. No matter how long I live here, seeing Mt Rainier in all its glory never gets old.  I think that is one thing I will miss when I leave. But, that is also one of the things I…

    Hi. How Are You?

So I’ve been absent here for a little while. Okay, a month and a half. Sorry. But it’s all been for a good reason. I’ve been knee deep in revisions, again. And I have to say, this time around, it’s completely different. You see, in addition to working through the notes from beta-readers, I’ve also been taking part in a class offered by one of the publishers I queried last year. Thankfully, they hadn’t responded to my query yet, so taking this class will benefit us both. At least I hope it will. The class has covered everything from pacing to conflict and tension, setting and scene, characters and dialogue.…
